How can I leave this

unintentional 13k

My plan was to run from Pentagon City to the end of the Potomac Yard Trail, then bike the way back – 8km.

Except I got too excited, ran all the way to the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria, decided to go on Mt. Vernon trail, and got stuck there, until I managed to get on the metro at DCA.

IT band did hurt a little, but it went away as soon as I stopped running and I haven't had pain ever since.

leaving tomorrow

I don't know why but leaving always makes me cry.

I've never cried watching a sad movie or reading a book, so DC, you've won all the sad movies that made millions of people bawl their eyes out.

Thankfully it was dark outside, but the thought of having to go back to my apartment tomorrow is just too upsetting. This place is an expert at giving me heartaches, and I haven't had many in my life. I guess DC wins no. 1 in that category.

My mom told me, "As long as you're alive you can visit again."

I guess that's a good reason to stay alive. I'll make sure I keep myself alive – physically and mentally.

for this week

I'm going to finish the first draft of my statement of purpose until Saturday and send out the emails for letters of rec straight after. I'll have to grind after finishing work + training for my next race but I'd rather keep myself busy than sit and doom-scroll and be miserable.
