Day 21 of The November Project
v2
Just when I thought I had nailed v1 of my SOP, I decided to scrap it and start over. Why? I felt I had to make a major change from CS to Biomedical engineering, and tailored the entire statement towards the new degree, except that the more I read it, the more general it sounded. If someone picked it up and read it, it could be anyone's paper, not mine.
connect
I talked with a former classmate today, and it felt great meeting and chatting with someone with similar goals. He even suggested giving a second set of eyes on my SOP, and I didn't know what else to say but thank you.
I feel like I see hope.
build up
Today's run: 10k build-up
- 2K @ 6:40 min/km
- 2K @ 6:20 min/km
- 2K @ 6:00 min/km
- 2K @ 5:40 min/km
- 2K @ 5:20 min/km
I could have, and should have, gone slower for the first 2/5, but I nailed the faster paces (anything faster than 600 is fast for me at the moment) and finished with a 4:58-minute kilometer for the last one – a personal best.
Hopefully, I can hit my goal for half-marathon #2.
I'll spend the weekend working on my SOP,
Ael
